What is the difference between Botox and Dysport?

Botox & Dysport are similar in nature, both come from a neurotoxic protein. Both are non-invasive and work by temporarily relaxing facial muscles. The difference is their trace protein and how they are manufactured. One unit of Botox is equivalent to 3 units of Dysport. They both reach peak results at 2 weeks and both can last up to 3-4 months. Some patients experience seeing quicker results with Dysport starting at 2-3 days, whereas with Botox it can take up to a week to start seeing changes.

What are side effects to Botox/Dysport and how long does it last?

The most common side effects are headaches, pressure or heaviness to forehead, injection site pain, swelling and/or bruising and eyelid droop (ptosis). All side effects should resolve after several days, ptosis can take several weeks or last until your neurotoxin wears off.

Will I still look like myself or natural after filler?

The goal to using dermal filler is to achieve a natural and youthful look without creating different features. With the right amount and proper placement of filler, we can achieve beautiful results without looking unnatural.

Does getting dermal filler hurt?

Most patients experience mild pain. We apply a topical numbing medication to the skin to help alleviate pain from needle injection. Also, many dermal fillers are formulated with lidocaine which may help with pain during the injection.

How long does filler last?

Dermal Fillers can last anywhere from 6 months to 2 years depending on many factors such as type of filler being used, area being treated, patients age and lifestyle.

What does microneedling treat and can it be used on any skin type and ethnicity?

Microneedling is known to help with acne scarring, skin texture, reduce pore size, helps with fine lines and wrinkles. It can be used on any skin type and ethnicity.

What is involved with microneedling and how should I expect to look after my treatment?

Miconeedling begins with cleansing the skin and then applying a topical numbing medication. Once the partient is numb a microneedling pen is used to make tiny needle wounds to the skin which will prompt the body to produce collagen and elastin fibers resulting with a smoother look over time. Most patients experience redness and the feeling of a mild sunburn which resolves after a couple of days. We advise patients to avoid makeup the first 48 hours after treatment.

How many microneedling treatments would I need? How soon will I see results?

It is typically recommended to have 3-4 microneedling treatments every 6-8 weeks apart. Patients can see an immediate glow days after their first treatment but will continue to see improvement weeks and even months after.

What does a HydraFacial do?

A HydraFacial has many benefits such as a deep cleaning for your pores, exfoliates, hydrates, improves skin texture and tone, helps with acne and fines lines and wrinkles.

What does a HydraFacial feel like and is there any downtime?

During a HydraFacial you will feel gentle pressure with a cool sensation, it is not painful at all! There is no downtime after this treatment.

How can I prepare for my HydraFacial appointment?

The use of any retinol related products must be discontinued 2 days prior to treatment, along with any glycolic acid/enzymes or the use of exfoliants and chemical peel treatments.

What is the difference between PRF and PRP Therapy?

Platelet Rich Fibrin (PRF) is known to be the next-generation Pletelet-rich Plasma (PRP). PRF has the same benefits as PRP but it releases more growth factors over time which means it continues working and gives longer lasting results.

What is Sculptra:

Sculptra is an FDA-Approved injectable that helps to gradually revitalize collagen production to restore your skin's inner structure and volume.

How many treatments do I need and how long before I can see results?

Most patients will need 2-3 treatment sessions spaced 6-8 weeks apart. Results are gradual and may vary, you may see subtle improvement after 6 weeks.

How long does Sculptra last?

Sculptra results have been shown to last up to 2 years.

What can I expect after treatment?

Within the first 24 hours a cold compress can help with swelling. Avoid excessive sun/UV lamp exposure until swelling and redness resolve. You will need to massage treated areas 5 minutes, 5 times a day for 5 days post-treatment. Directions will be provided at your appointment.

What is Lumecca IPL?

Lumecca is a powerful Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) used to treat pigmented and vascular spots.

How many IPL treatments do I need?

Lumecca IPL can improve age spots, facial telangiectasia, cherry angioma, poikiloderma, rosacea, freckles and sun damage in 1-3 sessions.

How do I prepare myself for IPL?

Avoid direct or excessive sun exposure/tanning 1 month prior to treatment.

Are there any side effects with Lumecca IPL?

Patients will be sensitive to sunlight after treatment. Any skin reaction usually resolves within a few days. We recommend avoiding direct sunlight/tanning before and after treatment.

How long after treatment will I see results?

You can see initial results after a week, it can take 4-6 weeks to see final results.

Is there downtime?

Your skin will appear as though you have a sunburn. You may also experience some swelling, but most patients are able to resume their normal activities right away.

What does IPL treat?

IPL can minimize or remove age spots, sun damage, freckles, birthmarks, varicose veins, telangiectasia and rosacea.

What does IPL treatment feel like?

Most people liken the feeling to being snapped with a rubber band.

How many treatments will I need?

Depending on what lesion we are treating, generally on average patients are required more than 1 treatment. However, your injector will be able to determine this at your consultation.

What not to do after Lumecca:

No hot showers/baths
No waxing
No exfoliating or chemical peels in the first week
Do not pick at crusts
Do not expose skin to the sun unprotected, and an SPF of 30 or greater is recommended.

What is Morpheus8 and what does it do?

What is the downtime for Morpheus8?

Most patients can resume normal activities within 24-48 hours. Your provider will go over your personalized specifications at your appointment. There may be redness, small bumps or dots and possibly itchiness to the area being treated.

Q: How should I prepare for a spray tan?

A: Exfoliate and shave at least 8 hours prior. Avoid lotions, oils, or anything that could sink into your skin and make your spray tan uneven.

Q: What should I wear to my spray tan appointment?

A: You should wear loose, dark colored clothing you don't care about very much. The spray tan may wash off your clothes, but not guaranteed and may stain your clothing.

Q: When can I shower after a spray tan?

A: You should wait 8 hours to shower after getting a spray tan. In this time, you should also avoid sweating or applying lotion or anything to your skin, otherwise you run the risk of making your new spray tan streaky or uneven.

Q: Does a spray tan protect you from the sun?

A: NO! Wear SPF at all times!

Q: How long will my spray tan last?

A: Spray tans can last 7-10 days.
